Muhammad

ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللهِ أَضَلَّ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ ١

Those who disbelieve and repel from the path of ALLAH, He nullifies their works.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَءَامَنُواْ بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ۬ وَهُوَ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَبِّہِمۡ‌ۙ كَفَّرَ عَنۡہُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِہِمۡ وَأَصۡلَحَ بَالَهُمۡ ٢

Those who believe and work righteousness, and believe in what was sent down to Muhammad – which is the truth from their Lord – He remits their sins, and blesses them with contentment.

ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱتَّبَعُواْ ٱلۡبَـٰطِلَ وَأَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّبَعُواْ ٱلۡحَقَّ مِن رَبِّہِمۡ‌ۚ كَذَٲلِكَ يَضۡرِبُ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ أَمۡثَـٰلَهُمۡ ٣

This is because those who disbelieve are following falsehood, while those who believe are following the truth from their Lord. ALLAH thus cites for the people their examples.

فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَضَرۡبَ ٱلرِّقَابِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَثۡخَنتُمُوهُمۡ فَشُدُّواْ ٱلۡوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنَّۢا بَعۡدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَآءً حَتَّىٰ تَضَعَ ٱلۡحَرۡبُ أَوۡزَارَهَا‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ وَلَوۡ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ لَٱنتَصَرَ مِنۡہُمۡ وَلَـٰكِن لِّيَبۡلُوَاْ بَعۡضَڪُم بِبَعۡضٍ۬‌ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُواْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللهِ فَلَن يُضِلَّ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ ٤

If you encounter (in war) those who disbelieve, you may strike the necks. If you take them as captives you may set them free or ransom them, until the war ends. Had ALLAH willed, He could have granted you victory, without war. But He thus tests you by one another. As for those who get killed in the cause of ALLAH, He will never put their sacrifice to waste.

سَيَہۡدِيہِمۡ وَيُصۡلِحُ بَالَهُمۡ ٥

He will guide them, and bless them with contentment.

وَيُدۡخِلُهُمُ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمۡ ٦

He will admit them into Paradise, that He described to them.

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِن تَنصُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ يَنصُرۡكُمۡ وَيُثَبِّتۡ أَقۡدَامَكُمۡ ٧

O you who believe, if you support ALLAH, He will support you, and strengthen your foothold.

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَتَعۡسً۬ا لَّهُمۡ وَأَضَلَّ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ ٨

Those who disbelieve incur misery; He causes their works to be utterly in vain.

ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ كَرِهُواْ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ فَأَحۡبَطَ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ ٩

That is because they hated what ALLAH revealed and consequently, He nullifies their works.

أَفَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ‌ۚ دَمَّرَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡہِمۡ‌ۖ وَلِلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمۡثَـٰلُهَا ١٠

Did they not roam the Earth and see the consequences for those before them? ALLAH destroyed their works; all disbelievers will suffer the same fate.

ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَوۡلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَأَنَّ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ لَا مَوۡلَىٰ لَهُمۡ ١١

This is because ALLAH is the Lord of those who believe, while the disbelievers have no lord.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُدۡخِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٍ۬ تَجۡرِى مِن تَحۡتِہَا ٱلۡأَنۡہَـٰرُ‌ۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يَتَمَتَّعُونَ وَيَأۡكُلُونَ كَمَا تَأۡكُلُ ٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمُ وَٱلنَّارُ مَثۡوً۬ى لَّهُمۡ ١٢

ALLAH admits those who believe and lead a righteous life into gardens with flowing streams. As for those who disbelieve, they live and eat like the animals eat, then end up in the hellfire.

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ هِىَ أَشَدُّ قُوَّةً۬ مِّن قَرۡيَتِكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَخۡرَجَتۡكَ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهُمۡ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمۡ ١٣

Many a community was much stronger than the community that evicted you (from your town); when we annihilated them, no one could help them.

أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ۬ مِّن رَبِّهِ كَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُ ۥ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُم ١٤

Are those enlightened by their Lord the same as those whose evil works are adorned in their eyes, and they follow their own opinions?

مَّثَلُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ‌ۖ فِيہَآ أَنۡہَـٰرٌ۬ مِّن مَّآءٍ غَيۡرِ ءَاسِنٍ۬ وَأَنۡہَـٰرٌ۬ مِّن لَّبَنٍ۬ لَّمۡ يَتَغَيَّرۡ طَعۡمُهُ ۥ وَأَنۡہَـٰرٌ۬ مِّنۡ خَمۡرٍ۬ لَّذَّةٍ۬ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ وَأَنۡہَـٰرٌ۬ مِّنۡ عَسَلٍ۬ مُّصَفًّ۬ى‌ۖ وَلَهُمۡ فِيہَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٲتِ وَمَغۡفِرَةٌ۬ مِّن رَبِّہِمۡ‌ۖ كَمَنۡ هُوَ خَـٰلِدٌ۬ فِى ٱلنَّارِ وَسُقُواْ مَآءً حَمِيمً۬ا فَقَطَّعَ أَمۡعَآءَهُمۡ ١٥

The allegory of Paradise that is promised for the righteous is this: it has rivers of unpolluted water, and rivers of fresh milk, and rivers of wine – delicious for the drinkers – and rivers of strained honey. They have all kinds of fruits therein, and forgiveness from their Lord. (Are they better) or those who abide forever in the hellfire, and drink hellish water that tears up their intestines?

وَمِنۡہُم مَّن يَسۡتَمِعُ إِلَيۡكَ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا خَرَجُواْ مِنۡ عِندِكَ قَالُواْ لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ مَاذَا قَالَ ءَانِفًا‌ۚ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِہِمۡ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ ١٦

Some of them listen to you, then as soon as they leave they ask those who were enlightened, "What did he just say?" ALLAH thus seals their hearts and, consequently, they follow only their opinions.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱهۡتَدَوۡاْ زَادَهُمۡ هُدً۬ى وَءَاتَٮٰهُمۡ تَقۡوَٮٰهُمۡ ١٧

As for those who are guided, He augments their guidance, and grants them their righteousness.

فَهَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأۡتِيَہُم بَغۡتَةً۬‌ۖ فَقَدۡ جَآءَ أَشۡرَاطُهَا‌ۚ فَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمۡ إِذَا جَآءَتۡہُمۡ ذِكۡرَٮٰهُمۡ ١٨

Are they waiting until the Hour comes to them suddenly? All the signs thereof have already come. Once the Hour comes to them, how will they benefit from their message?

فَٱعۡلَمۡ أَنَّهُ ۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لِذَنۢبِكَ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمۡ وَمَثۡوَٮٰكُمۡ ١٩

You shall know that: "There is no other god beside ALLAH," and ask forgiveness of your sins and the sins of all believing men and women. ALLAH is fully aware of your decisions and your ultimate destiny.

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَوۡلَا نُزِّلَتۡ سُورَةٌ۬‌ۖ فَإِذَآ أُنزِلَتۡ سُورَةٌ۬ مُّحۡكَمَةٌ۬ وَذُكِرَ فِيہَا ٱلۡقِتَالُ‌ۙ رَأَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِہِم مَّرَضٌ۬ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيۡكَ نَظَرَ ٱلۡمَغۡشِىِّ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ‌ۖ فَأَوۡلَىٰ لَهُمۡ ٢٠

Those who believed said: "When will a new Sura be revealed?" But when a straightforward Sura was revealed, wherein fighting was mentioned, you would see those who harbored doubts in their hearts looking at you, as if death had already come to them. They were thus exposed.

طَاعَةٌ۬ وَقَوۡلٌ۬ مَّعۡرُوفٌ۬‌ۚ فَإِذَا عَزَمَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ فَلَوۡ صَدَقُواْ ٱللَّهَ لَكَانَ خَيۡرً۬ا لَّهُمۡ ٢١

Obedience and righteous utterances are expected of them. If only they showed confidence in ALLAH, when mobilization was called for, it would have been better for them.

فَهَلۡ عَسَيۡتُمۡ إِن تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ أَن تُفۡسِدُواْ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوٓاْ أَرۡحَامَكُمۡ ٢٢

Is it also your intention that as soon as you leave you will commit evil on Earth and mistreat your relatives?

أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمۡ وَأَعۡمَىٰٓ أَبۡصَـٰرَهُمۡ ٢٣

It is those who incurred a curse from ALLAH, whereby He rendered them deaf and blind.

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ أَمۡ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبٍ أَقۡفَالُهَآ ٢٤

Why do they not study the Quran carefully? Do they have locks on their minds?

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱرۡتَدُّواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَدۡبَـٰرِهِم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡهُدَى‌ۙ ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ سَوَّلَ لَهُمۡ وَأَمۡلَىٰ لَهُمۡ ٢٥

Surely, those who slide back, after the guidance has been manifested to them, the devil has enticed them and led them on.

ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَالُواْ لِلَّذِينَ كَرِهُواْ مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ سَنُطِيعُڪُمۡ فِى بَعۡضِ ٱلۡأَمۡرِ‌ۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ إِسۡرَارَهُمۡ ٢٦

This is because they said to those who hated what ALLAH has sent down, "We will obey you in certain matters." ALLAH fully knows their secret conspiracies.

فَكَيۡفَ إِذَا تَوَفَّتۡهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةُ يَضۡرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمۡ وَأَدۡبَـٰرَهُمۡ ٢٧

How will it be for them when the angels put them to death? They will beat them on their faces and their rear ends.

ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱتَّبَعُواْ مَآ أَسۡخَطَ ٱللَّهَ وَڪَرِهُواْ رِضۡوَٲنَهُ ۥ فَأَحۡبَطَ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ ٢٨

This is because they followed what angered ALLAH and hated the things that please Him. Consequently, He has nullified their works.

أَمۡ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ أَن لَّن يُخۡرِجَ ٱللَّهُ أَضۡغَـٰنَہُمۡ ٢٩

Did those who harbor doubts in their hearts think that ALLAH will not bring out their evil thoughts?

وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَأَرَيۡنَـٰكَهُمۡ فَلَعَرَفۡتَهُم بِسِيمَـٰهُمۡ‌ۚ وَلَتَعۡرِفَنَّهُمۡ فِى لَحۡنِ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ أَعۡمَـٰلَكُمۡ ٣٠

If we will, we can expose them for you, so that you can recognize them just by looking at them. However, you can recognize them by the way they talk. ALLAH is fully aware of all your works.

وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُمۡ حَتَّىٰ نَعۡلَمَ ٱلۡمُجَـٰهِدِينَ مِنكُمۡ وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ وَنَبۡلُوَاْ أَخۡبَارَكُمۡ ٣١

We will certainly put you to the test, in order to distinguish those among you who strive, and steadfastly persevere. We must expose your true qualities.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللهِ وَشَآقُّواْ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ لَن يَضُرُّواْ ٱللَّهَ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا وَسَيُحۡبِطُ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ ٣٢

Those who disbelieve and repel from the path of ALLAH, and oppose the messenger after the guidance has been manifested for them, will never hurt ALLAH in the least. Instead, He nullifies their works.

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَلَا تُبۡطِلُوٓاْ أَعۡمَـٰلَكُمۡ ٣٣

O you who believe, you shall obey ALLAH, and obey the messenger. Otherwise, all your works will be in vain.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللهِ ثُمَّ مَاتُواْ وَهُمۡ كُفَّارٌ۬ فَلَن يَغۡفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمۡ ٣٤

Those who disbelieve and repel from the path of ALLAH, then die as disbelievers, ALLAH will never forgive them.

فَلَا تَهِنُواْ وَتَدۡعُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلسَّلۡمِ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَوۡنَ وَٱللَّهُ مَعَكُمۡ وَلَن يَتِرَكُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلَكُمۡ ٣٥

Therefore, you shall not waver and surrender in pursuit of peace, for you are guaranteed victory, and ALLAH is with you. He will never waste your efforts.

إِنَّمَا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا لَعِبٌ۬ وَلَهۡوٌ۬‌ۚ وَإِن تُؤۡمِنُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ يُؤۡتِكُمۡ أُجُورَكُمۡ وَلَا يَسۡـَٔلۡكُمۡ أَمۡوَٲلَكُمۡ ٣٦

This worldly life is no more than play and vanity. But if you believe and lead a righteous life, He will reward you, without asking you for any money.

إِن يَسۡـَٔلۡكُمُوهَا فَيُحۡفِڪُمۡ تَبۡخَلُواْ وَيُخۡرِجۡ أَضۡغَـٰنَكُمۡ ٣٧

If He asked you for money, to the extent of creating a hardship for you, you might have become stingy, and your hidden evil might be exposed.

هَـٰٓأَنتُمۡ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ تُدۡعَوۡنَ لِتُنفِقُواْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللهِ فَمِنڪُم مَّن يَبۡخَلُ‌ۖ وَمَن يَبۡخَلۡ فَإِنَّمَا يَبۡخَلُ عَن نَّفۡسِهِۦ‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ ٱلۡغَنِىُّ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلۡفُقَرَآءُ‌ۚ وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوۡاْ يَسۡتَبۡدِلۡ قَوۡمًا غَيۡرَكُمۡ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوٓاْ أَمۡثَـٰلَكُم ٣٨

You are invited to spend in the cause of ALLAH, but some of you turn stingy. The stingy are stingy towards their own souls. ALLAH is Rich, while you are poor. If you turn away, He will substitute other people in your place, and they will not be like you.
