بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ ١
The sky and its galaxies.
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ ٢
The promised day.
وَشَاهِدٍ۬ وَمَشۡہُودٍ۬ ٣
The witness and the witnessed.
قُتِلَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ ٤
Woe to the people of the canyon.
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ ٥
They ignited a blazing fire.
إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡہَا قُعُودٌ۬ ٦
Then sat around it.
وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُہُودٌ۬ ٧
To watch the burning of the believers.
وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡہُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ ٨
They hated them for no other reason than believing in ALLAH, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.
ٱلَّذِى لَهُ ۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ۬ شَہِيدٌ ٩
To Him belongs the kingship of the Heavens and the Earth. And ALLAH witnesses all things.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ ١٠
Surely, those who persecute the believing men and women, then fail to repent, have incurred the retribution of Hell; they have incurred the retribution of burning.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٌ۬ تَجۡرِى مِن تَحۡتِہَا ٱلۡأَنۡہَـٰرُۚ ذَٲلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ ١١
Surely, those who believed and led a righteous life, have deserved gardens with flowing streams. This is the greatest triumph.
إِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ ١٢
Indeed, your Lord’s blow is severe.
إِنَّهُ ۥ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ ١٣
He is the One who initiates and repeats.
وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ ١٤
And He is the Forgiving, Most Kind.
ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِيدُ ١٥
Possessor of the glorious Throne.
فَعَّالٌ۬ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ ١٦
Doer of whatever He wills.
هَلۡ أَتَٮٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ ١٧
Did you note the history of the troops?
فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ ١٨
Pharaoh and Thamoud?
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِى تَكۡذِيبٍ۬ ١٩
Those who disbelieve are plagued with denial.
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآٮِٕہِم مُّحِيطُۢ ٢٠
ALLAH is fully aware of them.
بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانٌ۬ مَّجِيدٌ۬ ٢١
Indeed, it is a glorious Quran.
