The Sedentary
لَوۡ كَانَ عَرَضً۬ا قَرِيبً۬ا وَسَفَرً۬ا قَاصِدً۬ا لَّٱتَّبَعُوكَ وَلَـٰكِنۢ بَعُدَتۡ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلشُّقَّةُۚ وَسَيَحۡلِفُونَ بِٱللهِ لَوِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡنَا لَخَرَجۡنَا مَعَكُمۡ يُہۡلِكُونَ أَنفُسَہُمۡ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّہُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ٤٢
If there were a quick material gain, and a short journey, they would have followed you. But the striving is just too much for them. They will swear by ALLAH: "If we could, we would have mobilized with you." They thus hurt themselves, and ALLAH knows that they are liars.

Obey ALLAH and obey the messenger
To complete the Test, GOD will see and test you with your money and your lives. This means that all your material resources and your lives should be dedicated to GOD as dictated in the Quran.
