وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مَا حَوۡلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفۡنَا ٱلۡأَيَـٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ ٢٧
We have annihilated many communities around you, after we had explained the proofs, that they might repent.
Proofs and revelations
46:27 - The Proof:
Revealed: For the entire verse, the GV of Allah letters is 227, spelling out the word "The Believers" - "Al-Mumineen". The proofs are granted to the messengers for the sole purpose of proving to the people that the message is from Allah and to offer them a chance to ask for forgiveness and repentance from their Lord. In essence, they have to become believers (227) by believing in Allah and in His messenger.
