ٱسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِرَبِّكُم مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن يَأۡتِىَ يَوۡمٌ۬ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُ ۥ مِنَ ٱللهِۚ مَا لَكُم مِّن مَّلۡجَإٍ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّڪِيرٍ۬ ٤٧
You shall respond to your Lord before a day comes which is decreed inevitable by ALLAH. There will be no refuge for you on that day, nor an advocate.

42:38 and 42:47 - The Proof:
42:38 They respond to their Lord by observing the Salat (Contact Prayer). Their affairs are decided after due consultation among themselves, and from our provisions to them they give (to charity).
42:47 You shall respond to your Lord before a day comes which is decreed inevitable by ALLAH. There will be no refuge for you on that day, nor an advocate.
Comment: Both verses are on the subject of responding to our Lord. Allah decrees that the believers have to observe the five daily Salat and give charity from their provisions as well as to decide their affairs after due consultation among themselves. He also decrees to respond to His calls by turning righteous before the inevitable Day of Judgment. He points out that on that Day there will be no refuge nor can any one intercede or advocate on behalf of each other.
Revealed: The importance of responding to our Lord is emphasized and magnified by the inscription of 19 and 20 letters of Allah, revealing the diff. of 1, through these verses.
