Quran 4:48

4:48 and 4:116 - The Proofs:

4:48 ALLAH does not forgive idolatry, but He forgives lesser offenses for whomever He wills. Anyone who sets up idols beside ALLAH, has forged a horrendous offense.

4:116 ALLAH does not forgive idol worship (if maintained until death), and He forgives lesser offenses for whomever He wills. Anyone who idolizes any idol beside ALLAH has strayed far astray. 

Revealed: The Allah letters are 21 and 22 for each verse, revealing the diff. of 1.

Revealed: The messenger’s letters are 30 and 31 for each verse, revealing the diff. of 1. 30,31 is 7 x 433 - revealing the Glorified words “Lord of the Universe”. 

The essence of these verses reflect on the required belief to obey Allah and His messenger and those who do not follow this command end up committing to gross sin of idolatry. Idolatry also represents refusal to obey any verse or command of Allah as given in the Quran. It also applies to those who twist the laws of Allah or make up any law that is not in the Quran.
