A Profound Example To Explain Idolatry
ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلاً۬ مِّنۡ أَنفُسِكُمۡۖ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَـٰنُكُم مِّن شُرَڪَآءَ فِى مَا رَزَقۡنَـٰڪُمۡ فَأَنتُمۡ فِيهِ سَوَآءٌ۬ تَخَافُونَهُمۡ كَخِيفَتِڪُمۡ أَنفُسَكُمۡۚ ڪَذَٲلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡأَيَـٰتِ لِقَوۡمٍ۬ يَعۡقِلُونَ ٢٨
He cites for you herein an example from among yourselves: Do you ever elevate your servants or subordinates to the level where they rival you, and to the point that you pay them as much allegiance as is being paid to you? We thus explain the revelations for people who understand.

30:28 cites a profound example for the disbelievers who have dared to elevate the servants of Allah to rank with Him and pay them as much allegiance or even more than Allah. This verse points out the worst sin of idolatry whereby the disbelievers worship the servants of Allah rather than worshipping the One who sent those servants. For this reason Allah has stamped this verse with 110 Arabic letters to reveal His Absoluteness as One.
