Comment: What does “righteous” mean here in context to God and His messenger? Note the first sentence in 26:176, that tells us that the people disbelieved in the messengers, as they still do now. So, the messenger asks the people if they would be righteous in obeying God’s Absolute Authority by believing in His messenger; and in order to reverence God, they have to obey the messenger.
