قَالُواْ لَبِثۡنَا يَوۡمًا أَوۡ بَعۡضَ يَوۡمٍ۬ فَسۡـَٔلِ ٱلۡعَآدِّينَ ١١٣
They said, "We lasted a day or part of a day. Ask those who counted."

The so-called (10) Commandments
years to see if they could count or remember about their life on Earth, whereas the answer of the disbelievers reverts to a day or a part of the day, as they would have lost the count. They will not be able to remember their lives spent on Earth in years, except to equate it to “part of the day” or “a day.” It is further summarized by the Omniscient as a brief interim for those who were knowledgeable.
