Quran 2:30

The angels are the loyal servants of Allah. They passed their Test of Submission during the Heavenly Feud when Allah commanded all the angels to fall prostrate before Adam; they all fell prostrate, except iblees (satan) who refused, was too arrogant and a disbeliever. As given in verse 2:30, the angels were not happy with the decision of Allah to appoint satan as a “khalifa”– a temporary god on Earth, but Allah knew best the reason and purpose behind it. Life on Earth has all the elements either to commit evil or to work righteousness.
