يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡڪُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِڪُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ ١٨٣
O you who believe, fasting is decreed for you, as it was decreed for those before you, that you may attain salvation.

How do you witness this month? Remember, the subject of fasting opened with the words, “O you who believe”, in verse 2:183. These words are addressed to the believers, who firmly believe in God’s Absolute Authority to send messengers, and to do as He pleases.
