قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌ۬ وَڪَانَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتِى عَاقِرً۬ا وَقَدۡ بَلَغۡتُ مِنَ ٱلۡڪِبَرِ عِتِيًّ۬ا ٨
He said, "My Lord, will I have a son despite my wife’s sterility, and despite my old age?"

The example of Zachariah is given in chapter 19, verses 2-9. He implored God for an heir because he was old and worried about his dependents after his death.
